Ministers

Rev. Leland Bond-Upson is our Interim Minister. This is how he describes himself:
I am:
• a child of the Unitarian Fellowship movement, youth member of a small UU church in SE Washington
state, active in LRY (Liberal Religious Youth), and later, SRL (student religious liberals), a Starr King School for the Ministry graduate
and former board member and fundraiser of the School and of my congregations.
• a minister in Fellowship with the UUA and a member of the UU Ministers Association and its District
chapters.
• a contributor to Chalice-Lighters, UUSC, and many other humanitarian, conservation, equity, and justice
groups.
• a rational religious Humanist progressive Unitarian with affection for Universalism, Buddhism, the Society
of Friends.
• a Northwest-raised conservationist who thinks nuclear energy maybe isn’t so bad, and who has sympathy
for loggers and miners, if not so much for logging and mining companies.
• a lover of Jesus and Lincoln and Gandhi and nurses and teachers and people like that.
• one who believes that mistreatment in one way or another is the source of maybe all the evil-doing in
the world, and that the little good things we do are adding up to a quiet transformation in our own lifetimes.
• one who likes spirituality that goes deeply in, that it may guide the self outward to bless the world.
